Candleguard

Candleguard

Rare · Magic · Attack · Dwarves

Candleguard is a Rare Magic Attack champion who entered the Dwarves faction in Patch 4.50, likely required for the August 2021 Mother Cybele fusion. She brings a spread of weak buffs and debuffs that offer some early-game double-AoE utility but nothing that lasts into endgame teams.

Core Strengths & Abilities

Buff Removal and Theft: Her A1, Light of Scrutiny, has a 40% chance to remove 1 random buff from a target, with a 50% chance to steal a buff instead if the target holds 3 or more, giving her a niche against heavily buffed opponents.

Double AoE Pressure: Her A2, Triumph Cry, is an AoE attack with a 50% chance (75% booked) to place a 15% Weaken for 2 turns on a 3-turn cooldown when booked. Her A3, Focused, first grants herself a 25% Increase ATK and 15% Increase C.RATE buff for 3 turns before delivering a second AoE attack on a 4-turn cooldown when booked, giving her a self-buffed nuking option alongside her Weaken application.

Key Weaknesses

Weak Effect Magnitudes: Her Weaken value and buff-theft chances are modest even when booked, and she lacks any strong single mechanic that stands out in a now-crowded Dwarves faction.

Candleguard is a decent but forgettable option for early-to-mid progression stun-set teams, with little role once better Dwarves or Magic Attack champions are available.
